Command to Engine 18's officer. I'm going to pass command to you. I'm going to go off the radio just for a moment. Engine 18, clear. Be advised, 400 is going to come to the scene. Command clear, thank you. This is a press release on behalf of Oklahoma City Fire Department. County Chief Lance Burnett. At approximately 620 this morning, at the 1,700 block of North Bryant, there was a check smoke call that came in to check smoke inside. While en route, the two responding initial companies were upgraded and given a commercial alarm response. They arrived on scene to find a 10,000 square foot multi-room vacant structure. with heavy smoke issuing. It's a single-story structure. Heavy smoke issuing from the attic and all eaves around the building. The majority of the fire was located just back east from the entrance that set on the front of the building facing Bryant. The fire was knocked down and it had spread into the attic. Firewall softened from spreading any further. There was no one inside the structure following primary and secondary searches. No injuries to any personnel on scene. Continuation of press release. No injuries to any firefighters or any person on scene. No persons were found within the structure. This is expected to be close to $100,000 worth of damage. We do have fire investigators en route to check the building. The structure was open, doors unlocked, so we do believe there may have been. someone that actually started this fire that should not have been in the building.
