Showers and thunderstorms will return ahead of it, and then refreshing northerly winds will bring welcome change to much cooler and less humid weather behind it next weekend. Be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning until the heat wave breaks. This is a heat advisory for the following counties in Ohio, Athens, Gallia and Mages, and the following counties in West Virginia, Jackson, Mason and Putnam. He should at 5.50 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight time this evening. Heat index values up to 104. Areas affected include portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and central, southern and western West Virginia. The hazardous weather can be expected until 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight time this evening. Impacts, high temperatures and humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
