Motorcycle crash causes traffic delays on Ventura Freeway Traffic I'm going to bet it's cooler where you are than it is where I am. I'm heading back to the house now. I had to pick a couple of hours. Pick up an item and my wife said as long as you're going to be in that area, go return something for me at Macy. So you had to take a roundabout route because the eastbound Ventura freeway is tied up for miles and miles just near the off ramp that I'd be getting off to get home. Some kind of motorcycle accident. Sorry to hear that. Well, eventually you'll get home, but yeah, I understand the detour. Well, if you know the right streets, it's not bad. You know which one flows. been around in your area long enough to know all those back roads. But take a person like me who is unfamiliar with the territory, I'd be stuck on the 101. Yeah, as I was coming from the hardware store, you know, heading up and get to go to Macy's, I saw this truck pick out who is going to get on the freeway at that on-ramp there at Topanga. I'm thinking, gee, I wish it was someone I could tell him not to do that. Oh, my goodness. So how's the day been for you? Pretty full but productive, so we're pretty happy about that. We entertained some guests and worked with them on a little practice or drill with county health. department as well as state office of emergency services. That was a nice thing to do, nice activity for this afternoon. But we're done. Everybody's going home. How about that? Okay. Somebody who... Oh, you know, maybe I shouldn't have come on it. We've got a bunch of cowboys up there blocking the intersection because they're taking an alternate route for the accident. I'm going to get out of this lane and not even worry about making my turn up there. I'll go straight ahead instead. Another back route to get back to my neighborhood. Well, as somebody who does emergency preparedness, I've got a little group box. It's online, and I do emergency preparedness for the neighborhood councils in Los Angeles. That sounds like something interesting. In this particular case today, I have a county health, public health officer and a representative from Cal OES, Southern Regents, helped us out with doing some mock press conferences. what it was. Practice a little stand-up and answer questions from the press and stuff like that. That's what we were doing. So anyway, when you said cowboys, was that figuratively or literally, where there are men and women on horses? I imagine not. K-I-6 BCA? Yeah, BCA recognized. Yeah, no, that's figuratively, you know, so people feel that they can drive into the intersection. Oh, I can make through that. Oh, well, I'm going to block the intersection here for a while. You know, oh, God, this intersection is a real mess going in all directions. Oh, that sounds interesting. Last month I had two of our Papa members to talk about a means of communication. during emergencies. It's a mesh network that can be used even by non-hams. Oh my goodness, I can't remember what the frequency is way up there. So I'm going to discuss a little more of that this week. BCA, go ahead, WA6. on what you had said about the 101, their left two lanes are closed. Multiple police vehicles and tow trucks are there now just east of Weneca. So east of Weneca is a train wreck, but west of Weneca everybody should be okay. So just wanted to give you a little heads up on that. And I'll throw a quick, (name withheld). Sounds like good information, (name withheld). You want to comment real quick on (name withheld)'s report? Yeah, I was going westbound. It was a little slow because of the looky-lose. But that's 30 minutes, a bit more, about 35, 40 minutes ago. And they had only the right lane open at that time. And the backup is the lost hills going east, if you know that area.
