Burglary Suspect Sighting and Pursuit on Oakdale Street

Summary: LAPD Valley Bureau units responded to reports of a burglary suspect (459) who was seen leaving a residence near 6222 2nd Street and later sighted at 6233 Oakdale. The suspect, described as a male wearing a black hat, blue scarf or jacket, black pants, white and gray shoes, and orange gloves, was reportedly last seen exiting the PR's (person reporting) residence and possibly inside a phone store. Units requested air support and conducted a search in the surrounding area, including Oakdale Street, Balboa Boulevard, Blacklock Avenue, and Babcock Avenue. Keyholder reported cameras were disconnected. The suspect was last seen with a duffel bag approximately 10 minutes prior to the last sighting. The incident was handled as code 3 (emergency response), and airship (helicopter) support was requested and later canceled as the situation deescalated.
