Brush fire contained near Gaston Road in Greenville

As discussed during the dispatch call, fire crews responded to a brush fire near Gaston Road and Blackjack Road in Pitt County. Units supplied water from tankers and accessed the fire area from nearby roads and wooded areas. Radio traffic later reported the fire’s forward spread had been stopped with only previously burned material still smoldering. While handling the fire response, units also received automatic crash alerts reported near Blackjack Road and nearby cross streets with no contact made from the involved parties.
